eLearning
Welcome to my eLearning page. Here I’ve included a mashup of three eLearning. These were chosen because of their use of animations and/or interactivity. The topics of the courses I chose were procedure onboarding, forklift training, and ergonomics. Each topic has between two and four slides. You start at the landing page and then freely choose your topic. Below is a breakout of each topic, what the course covered, how many slides to view, whether they contain animations or are interactive, and the software used. All topics in the courses included here have been scrubbed of proprietary information and shortened from their original.
Procedure Onboarding
Topic: My internal engineering client wanted to create something fun and fresh, looking to learn about how current and new employees should handle departmental procedures. Six animations were recommended to keep them small. They were created using the Vyond animation software and included the Vyond A.I. narration. The SME, with my direction, was responsible for providing the script. After script approval, I began developing in Vyond. Vyond uses a scene-based timeline. Depending on the length of the script, there could be anywhere from 17 to 40 scenes for each animation. Once the animations were complete, I downloaded the mp4 and SRT files for use in Articulate Storyline. The final project was uploaded to our LMS to be distributed to employees in the department. Additionally, the animations were translated into four other languages for use globally. The slides shown here are the three main topics on up-to-date procedures, procedure accuracy, and procedure maintenance.

Forklifts
Topic: I worked for our internal Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department. A trainer responsible for the four-hour in-person forklift training was retiring. Instead of getting another trainer, EHS decided to convert the in-person training to an eLearning. I was tasked with ensuring it was no more than one hour. I created and sent the SME a detailed camera shot list so we could capture all relevant videos and photos needed for the training. The videos were edited using Premiere Pro, stills were done in Photoshop, and the bulk of the course was developed in Articulate Storyline 360. There was a landing page that branched off to three other topics. I utilized triggers and states to control the flow and direct the learner through the course. The course had animations about stability, interactions to learn more about steering, and the parts of a forklift. The slides included here cover the parts of a forklift interaction, automobile vs. forklift interaction, and the stability of a forklift.

Ergonomics
Topic: I was tasked with condensing six similar courses on ergonomics into three smaller courses. The first of those courses, Ergonomics Basics Overview, covered all the generalities related to ergonomics in the workplace (office, shop floor, staging area, etc.). Two key concepts not covered in previous versions of the course were Reach & Risk Zones. The reach zone slide discusses how far you should reach when sitting and performing a task. The risk zone is related to lifting and where the perfect “safe” zone is. This course was created prior to my department getting approval for me to have and use the Adobe Create Cloud. Therefore, the characters and diagram shown were created using Microsoft PowerPoint’s draw, edit points, and merge shapes feature to achieve the look you see on the slide. I had to save multiple versions of the same image as a png and then imported everything into Articulate’s Storyline 360. This course also used states, triggers, variables, and if/else statements to get to the final outcome.
