Videos

Welcome to my video page! The videos contained here showcase my aptitude for video creation, production, and editing. Each video contains the following information; title, images, description, mediums used or my capacity in the production of the video, and the actual video. These are only a few of the many I’ve created, produced, and edited over the years. The ones on this page are from 2015 to 2021 in reverse order of production.

ZombieCon

Description:

In 2021 Sententia Gamification was doing a special promotion for their Game Garage night around Halloween. The idea was to produce two short videos. The first was promotional and would be used later at the TechLearn conference where the creator of the Walking Dead phenomenon was a guest speaker. The second was a shorter video (10-15 seconds) to toss it over from the promotional character to the game master.

The promotional idea I suggested and was approved was to have a more comedic approach with the zombie character DK (Decay). The idea was for the DK to be similar to the Korg character from Marvel’s Thor Ragnarok movie. A simple text file was used to sketch out the clips for the promotional video.

Bringing DK to life required a living mask from the Scream Team. Applying the mask and Sfx makeup took about 1.5 hours. Once in character, the video was shot against a green screen so that the zombie character could be chroma-keyed and roto-brushed in post-production.

During post-production, use of stock background video and audio from Envato Elements was obtained and used. Sententia’s digital team added the final onscreen text. Both videos were a huge hit with the audience. Many stated the videos helped engage them more.

8th Grade Graduation

Description:

In 2021 my daughter was graduating 8th grade. As part of the tradition, the parents of the graduating class form and produce a video to be presented to the class and their parents. Myself and two other parents formed the video committee and produced the graduation video. The video is about 19:40 minutes in length to ensure we captured all the graduates, their accomplishments, and special moments. We had to coordinate collecting all the images needed from each of the graduate’s parents. The video below was edited to protect the student’s identities, but still showcase the breadth of what was done. The edited version is only 2:46 minutes.

The video incorporates the use of premiere pro for the main video. I utilized nesting to keep the timeline neat and to allow quick editing if needed. The opening was done using an Envato Elements template for multiple images reveals. I incorporated the school logo I created in Illustrator too. The main background images were purchased from Adobe’s stock library and incorporated. I utilized the effects control to give the polaroid effect as the images faded on and off the screen. The congratulations message at the end was created using the Doodly whiteboard animation tool to provide the effect we were going for at the end. In addition to the video link, I also produced keepsake video discs. The menu image was produced using Photoshop and then imported into Media Encoder.

DGSD-Disney Dance

Description:

IIn 2018 my daughter and her dance school Denise Gucwa’s School of Dance was invited to perform at Walt Disney World with the Dance the World group. This was an exciting time for all the dancers!

Prior to going to WDW, I asked the owner Denise if they would like me to put together a video of the performance which she could share on her website and provide to the families attending. She agreed.

I collected and compiled several parent videos and still images. I used Premiere Pro for the main video editing and publishing. Photos were also retouched using Photoshop and I used an End Credit template from Envato Elements with a Disney downloaded font. Because some of the parent footage in the Epcot portion of the video was recorded in a vertical format, I chose to use a blurred zoomed-in photo of Epcot it in the background to avoid the blank spacing on either side of the video. The lower thirds were standard Adobe stock and updated to match the theme.

TDU Promotional Video

Description:

With the successful Marketing efforts of our 2015 Hermes Gold Creative Award brochure, TDU wanted to continue our rebranding efforts. The goal of the video project was to incorporate it on our rebranded website.

In the Spring of 2016, I reached out to the Art Institute of Philadelphia to coordinate a promotional video as part of their student capstone project. As VP and Marketing Director of the dive unit, I worked closely with the Art Institute of Philadelphia student team assigned to our project.

During the project, my part included discussing and approving the final promotional direction of the video. Additionally, I wrote the script alongside the student-assigned script writer. Finally, I met with the student audio engineers to record the final narration heard in the video. My oversight of the project ensured timely completion by the student team so that we could use it on the Our History webpage of the rebranded website. The video is still in use on the TDU website.
